Hi!
I’m Claudia, a Spanish teacher, filmmaker and creative professional from Spain, currently living and working in New Zealand. I have a background in Modern Languages and Literature and a Master’s in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, and I have been teaching Spanish for several years to people from all kinds of backgrounds, both online and in person.
I teach Spanish in a very natural and communicative way. I don’t believe language learning should be about memorising endless grammar rules. I want my students to actually use the language, have conversations, understand the culture and feel comfortable communicating in real situations. I adapt my classes to each person, combining conversation, practical situations, grammar, culture and whatever genuinely interests them.
Over the years I have taught everything from conversational Spanish and Spanish for business to DELE exam preparation (I’m also a certified DELE examiner), as well as Spanish for children, families and bilingual babies. I have also helped students prepare for the very real side of living in a Spanish-speaking country: navigating everyday situations, bureaucracy, work, travel and adapting to a new culture.
I’m currently working on a horse farm in New Zealand while continuing to teach online and work on my filmmaking and creative projects. I love languages, travel, culture, nature, storytelling and meeting people from different backgrounds. Having lived abroad myself, I know how much a language can change your experience of a place, and that’s something I love sharing with my students.
Your project caught my attention because it seems to combine languages and communication in a way that feels very close to what I enjoy doing. I’d love to hear more about what you’re looking for and see how I could contribute, whether through teaching, translation, cultural content or something else.
I’d be very happy to chat!
Claudia
